Create an empty project in Magic xpa for SmartUX Test Project

Learn how to create an empty project in Magic xpa for the SmartUX Demo Application with this easy-to-follow guide.

1. Click on the Options>>Settings>>Environment

To begin, let’s navigate to the Options menu in the Magic xpa. Click on the Options Menu. Upon clicking, you’ll see the Settings option. Park on the Settings. This will open a list of settings. In this list, you will see Environments Click on “Environments”. It will open a window that shows different environment settings.

2. Change the Deployment mode to Background

In the Environment settings window. You will see the System tab, Go to the Deployment Mode and change it to Background and click on the OK button. If it is already background, you can leave it as is. This setting is specifically required for the Web Client application.

3. Click on the New Project Enter a Project name and click OK

Let’s start by creating a new project in the Magic xpa for the SmartUX demo application. To do this, click on the “New Project” button. After clicking on “New Project,” a dialog box will appear prompting you to enter the project name. With the project name entered, Click “OK” to Create the Project.

4. The empty project

The newly created Magic xpa project will look like this containing a single program that is the Main Program. Double-click on the “Main Program” file in the Program Repository. Or park your cursor on the Main Program and press “F5” on your keyboard. Magic xpa Studio will open the “Main Program” for editing.

5. The Main Program

Now you can start making changes to the Main Program to work with SmartUX.

6. Open Main Program properties

Right-click on the “Main Program”, then click “Properties”. Or Use Keyboard Shortcuts: Press “ALT+Enter”. or “CTRL+P”. This will open the Properties windows.

7. Goto Interface tab

The properties window will show the Main program Task information. Now, switch to the Interface Tab.

8. Change the – Open Task Window to No Change the – Run Project As to Web Client

Under the Interface Tab, Form section, Change the Open Task Window property to No. Now below, in the Studio Project Execution section, Change the Run Project As to Web Client. After this, click the OK button.

9. Save the Main Program changes

Moving forward, press the Escape key on the keyboard. This will open a confirmation dialog window, to Save the changes. Click on Yes to save the changes, this will take you to the Program repository.

10. MgSmartUX.exe

As you save the Main Program, it will start the MgSmartUX.exe in the background. You can see the MgSmartUX.exe in the Task Manager Details Tab.
