1. Pre-requisite for Using The Script

To upgrade to the latest version of SmartUX Studio, please verify that you have both PowerShell 7 and 7-Zip installed in your environment.

2. Upgrade Script Location

Launch PowerShell with Administrator privileges and navigate to the directory where you have downloaded or stored the “UpgradeSmartUXStudio.ps1” script.

3. Execute the UpgradeSmartUXStudio Script

Next, you should proceed to execute the UpgradeSmartUXStudio script to initiate the upgrade process.

1. Go to your Magic XPA installation folder

2. Delete the existing SmartUX folder from the xpa installation path

The first thing you will need to do is to delete the existing SmartUX folder from the Magic xpa installation path.

3. Extract the latest SmartUX build zip

Download the latest SmartUX build and extract the build zip at your desired path.

4. After extraction, the folder contains two zip files.

The extracted folder should look like this, which contains two zip files.

SmartUX.zip
Templates.zip

5. Path to extract SmartUX.zip

Now, you need to extract the artifacts, SmartUX.zip, to the XPA installation path. This should create a SmartUX folder in the XPA installation path.

6. After extraction of SmartUX.zip

The extracted SmartUX folder should look like this, which contains the artifacts for MgSmartUX.exe that need to run correctly.

7. MgSmartUX.exe

MgSmartUX.exe is the executable that is responsible for starting the SmartUX background engine.

8. Templates.zip from SmartUX build extracted folder

Now, you need to extract the Templates.zip to the XPA installation\SmartUX folder path.

The created Templates folder will contain two folders.

- A folder with the build number.
- A default folder.

and these folders contain the required files for:

- Application Template
- Component Template
- Widgets

9. SmartUX folder
